🚀 New Features and Improvements – GEM-CAR, GEM-SOLARIS, GEM-FNI and GEM-LINK

This update includes several new features and improvements for GEM-CAR, GEM-SOLARIS, GEM-FNI and GEM-LINK.

These additions and adjustments are designed to improve sales, the point of sale, appointments, reports, vehicles, purchases, communications and several specialized features.

✨ New Features

1. 🧾 Sales and POS

   • Addition 26894 – New option allowing the default title to be replaced by a title selected in the Sales module configuration when generating an estimate in the POS.
   • Addition – New quotation statuses in Sales.
   • Addition – Paid / Unpaid filter in Sales.
   • Addition – Button allowing the payment of a closed invoice to be cancelled in order to return the amount to the customer’s receivables.

2. 📦 Products and Inventory

   • Addition 27424 – New Reference Code field added to the product file and now available in search.
   • Addition 27707 – The product line code now appears in the product search of the Sales and Purchases modules (code – line code – product name).

3. 🚗 Vehicles

   • Addition – Ability to create a new vehicle make when no result is found during vehicle creation.
   • Addition – Option allowing a category to be removed from the vehicle fleet (rental only).
   • Addition 24747 – New Engine vehicle type with specific fields, as well as the addition of the Horsepower field in all vehicle types.
   • Addition 25847 – In GEM-FNI, new option allowing vehicles to be imported into the fleet using an Excel file.

4. 📅 Appointments and Calendar

   • Addition 26606 – New drop-down menu in the Website module allowing one or more authorized bays to be selected for a service when booking an online appointment.
   • Addition – New monthly calendar view displaying appointments.
   • Addition – Customization of availability schedules by bay in the Schedule tab.
   • Addition 26618 – New Notify these people option for new online appointments, allowing the relevant users to be automatically notified.

5. 📊 Reports and Analytics

   • Addition 23698 – New popular vehicles report in the dashboard as well as in Vehicles > Report, with filters by model, make and year.
   • Addition 25270 – The customer’s name, phone number and email address are now included in the Excel file exported from the storage report.
   • Addition 26897 – New distance report in the Human Resources module, calculating the total distance travelled by each employee or technician for each sale in GEM-SOLARIS.

6. 💬 Communication

   • Addition 21244 – Ability to display a message in all Data after configuration in the Communication module’s Alert Center.

7. 🔗 GEM-LINK and GEM-LINKS

   • Addition 26505 – Option allowing a job to be automatically added to the estimate when importing products through GEM-LINKS.
   • Addition 26497 – New option allowing all labour to be merged into a single entry after importing multiple jobs into the POS.

8. 📄 GEM-FNI

   • Addition 26126 – New invoice and quotation templates in the custom settings.
   • Addition 27402 – Addition of seven new contracts:

11. 🛣️ Mileage Billing

    • Addition 23714 – New option allowing the distance between the company and the customer to be calculated and automatically billed using a predefined product. The distance and associated product are displayed on the estimate and invoice.

1. 💰 Accounting and Finance

   • Improvement 26931 – FSS is now posted directly to the FSS payable account to ensure proper presentation and reconciliation.
   • Improvement – Adjustments to tax calculation for franchises.
   • Improvement – Addition of a non-taxable option for deposits.
   • Improvement 25571 – The currency used in the POS is now identical to the one displayed in the accounting transaction, regardless of the payment method.
   • Improvement 27373 – Display of the payment reference on the deposit slip.

   • Improvement 24721 – The PO field now accepts alphanumeric characters and becomes locked after processing.
   • Improvement 27542 – Supplier invoice number validation now applies only to the relevant supplier.
   • Improvement 26473 – Ability to order a product through GEM-LINK after it has been set to Proposed and Submitted status.

   • Improvement 27819 – The background colour of work status labels now becomes white in profiles.

This update is the most important one of the year.

It was deployed on December 15, right after the peak season, to limit any impact on your operations and ensure a smooth rollout.
